Founded in 2016 with the overall goal to create visibility within our community for people with special needs and disabilities, Tailored Rides has grown into a viable and important organization within our community, whose focus continues to be in developing a healthy and encouraging environment on behalf of people who need a voice. Located Just outside of Paris, Texas, TREAT is situated on 1 acre of land with access to an additional 8 acres of property. Tailored Rides has a 100' x 100' covered and lighted arena, a 3 stall barn, two outdoor round pens, a 60 x 100 outdoor arena, various gardens, a sensory trail for riding and walking, and a large flock of chickens and guineas. Our belief is that interacting with nature and animals serves to energize, focus and improve every individual’s life and health, and that our community is stronger when everyone is included and valued. TREAT is committed to our community and welcomes anyone to advance and benefit from the various programs offered. Our History
Tailored Rides is an extension of Weybap Farm which found its beginning in the summer of 2005. The owners of the farm started with one goal in mind: clean food free of pesticides, chemicals and antibiotics. The farm was born as they began to grow enough produce to feed themselves. Over the years they have learned to raise and produce their own meat, to grow fruits and vegetables, and to dry, can, pickle and ferment foods to extend their value. Weybap farm has always been home to horses, chickens and various other animals. The founders hold a deep seated belief in the therapeutic value of spending time outdoors with horses and other creatures, so when Tailored Rides was looking for a home, Weybap Farm was a natural fit.
Tailored Rides began operations at Weybap Farm in early 2016 operating 2 days a week with 2 therapy horses. Over the years, Tailored Rides has continued to grow and now operates 5 days a week utilizing 6 horses. It is the community that allows Tailored Rides to grow, providing necessary funding and volunteers to help create the unique organization that is Tailored Rides. We have grown from having just a 20 x 30 dirt arena and a garage to keep our tack in, to an amazing organization with a 100 x 100 lighted covered arena, a 3 stall barn with tack room, a sensory trail and 2 round pens.
Throughout the life of this land, the aspirations of Weybap farm continue to be challenged, accomplished and improved upon. Tailored Rides Equine Assisted Therapy is a welcome addition to the already delightful farm.
